When Leaders start to learn coaching skills, there is a pattern. Early on the learning curve, it is tempting to think that itβs all about knowing the right questions. This assumes there is a grand list somewhere out there and as soon as I know it, I will be a great coach.
I have to disappoint you. Coaching is not about Powerful Questions, but about Powerful QuestionING. There is no coincidence that the ICF (International Coach Federation) names one of the coaching core competencies this way.
Powerful questioning happens when the coach LISTENS really well. Sound like a paradox? This podcast will explain what I talk about here.
Cheers, Maik
