Here's a little mindset hack that can help you stay open, grounded and humble:
Pretend everyone was sent to teach you something.
And:
It's your job to find out what that is.
Adopting this mindset alters our perception, shifting it from judgment to curiosity.
Why is this significant? When we start seeing every interaction as a potential lesson, we become more open-minded, receptive, and less defensive. We listen rather than make assumptions. We try to understand rather than dismiss.
Bringing up genuine curiosity doesn't cost you any money.
Give it a try!
The next time you converse with someone, whether they're a new acquaintance or an old friend, say:
'I am going to learn something valuable from this person. Let me find out what it is!'
You might be surprised by what you learn!
