↗️ My favorite tool for Relationship Building 101

It’s that time of year again where many of us reflect on the past and plan for the future.

10 years ago, I started a new role at my company and knew I needed to build relationships fast.

That’s when I came up with a simple tool that’s been a game-changer for me ever since – a relationship engagement plan. I wrote down the top 20 people I wanted to meet and build relationships with first.

My boss reviewed the list and made some adjustments, introducing me to a couple of key people right away. This simple tool helped me focus my energy and efforts on the relationships that mattered most.

As we enter a new year, I’m currently writing up my relationship engagement plan for the coming months. Here are a few guiding questions I use:

1. Who do I want to spend more time with?

2. Who do I want to influence and who do I want to be influenced by?

3. Which relationships do I want to invest in?

We all have finite resources, and we can’t be everything to everyone. That’s why it can be so helpful and liberating to have a plan in place for how you invest you energy.

What about you? Do you have a relationship engagement plan?
Who will you invest in this year?

All the best and happy new year 2023!!
